Take Action: Demand Fair Funding for ALL Public School Students!
📢 Your voice matters! Today, the Governor presented the FY2026 Budget, setting the stage for critical funding decisions impacting all public schools—including charters. Once again, charter public school students are receiving less funding than their peers in traditional public schools. This is unacceptable.
🚨 Did you know? 🚨
🔹 Charter schools will ONLY receive a $18 per-student increase this year, while traditional districts will receive, on average, nearly an $800 per-student increase.
🔹 Cyber charter students receive only 80% of per-pupil funding, while students in district-run virtual programs get 100%.
🔹 Millions of dollars are set aside to help traditional districts repair and improve their buildings—but charter public schools are excluded from these funds.
⚠️ Right now, funding is being unfairly distributed based on school type, NOT student need. That’s not equity—it’s discrimination.
💥 Do you believe ALL kids in Michigan should be treated fairly? Then it’s time to take action! Send an email to your lawmakers TODAY and demand that ALL public school students receive fair funding.
